Animal husbandry business is growing rapidly in UP. The situation is such that along with farmers, educated people also leave their jobs and do animal husbandry for additional income. Goat rearing is the most demanding business in this. In this connection, Etawah’s Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Manoj Gupta said that under this scheme, farmers can set up goat rearing units alone or in groups. Any man or woman can apply for this as a single farmer. He told that to get the benefit of one crore rupees, it is necessary for the farmer to have 25 bighas of land.
Government has started this scheme for animal breeders in 5 categories. Under this, 5 Biju goats will be given for setting up a unit of 100 goats. Considering the cost of this unit to be Rs 20 lakh, a maximum subsidy of up to Rs 10 lakh will be given on it. Similarly, there is a provision to give a maximum subsidy of Rs 20 lakh on setting up a unit of 200 goats and 10 Biju goats at a cost of Rs 40 lakh. Under the mission, a grant of Rs 30 lakh will be given on the project cost of Rs 60 lakh for a unit of 300 goats and 15 Biju goats, and a maximum grant of Rs 40 lakh will be given on setting up a unit of 400 goats and 20 Biju goats costing up to Rs 80 lakh. At the same time, a provision has been made to give a grant of Rs 50 lakh on the project cost of a unit of 500 goats and 25 Biju goats, considering it to be Rs 1 crore. Any applicant can apply online at https://nlm.udyamimitra.in/. Dr Manoj Gupta informed that under the National Livestock Mission (NLM), there is a provision to give a maximum grant of up to 50 percent on setting up 5 types of units of 100 to 500 goats.
Dr. Gupta said that single farmers will have to submit proof of having sufficient land and other necessary arrangements to set up a goat rearing unit at the time of application. Apart from this, farmers who want to take advantage of this scheme in groups can also take advantage of this scheme by forming a self-help group or agricultural producer organization i.e. FPO. He said that like any business, some money is required to start a goat rearing business. For this, you can opt for goat rearing loan given by various private and government banks. This business gives you a chance to earn a good profit. With this, you can earn well by living in a village or town.
