The trend of goat rearing has increased a lot in Bundelkhand region. Farmers are now rearing goats in many parts of villages, towns and cities. At the same time, now the government is also giving loans up to one crore for goat rearing. Some farmers in Hata block of Damoh took a loan of about 1 crore rupees by joining the National Livestock Scheme.

The government also provided 50% subsidy to the farmers so that the poor people can do their own employment. Actually, goats are used for milk and meat. There is a demand for goat meat in urban areas, so now the central government is giving a subsidy of up to Rs 50 lakh on a loan of Rs 1 crore to promote goat rearing. Only debt-free farmers can take advantage of this scheme.

Under the National Livestock Mission, farmers will have to apply individually or collectively for a loan of Rs 1 crore from the government for goat rearing. Farmers can go to any cafe and apply on the central government website nlm.udyamimitra.in . Under this scheme, a single farmer can start a unit of at least 100 goats, for which the farmer should have sufficient land and necessary resources. While applying, the farmer will have to show other documents including land papers. At the same time, to take advantage of this scheme, farmers will have to form a self-help group or agricultural producer organization. Loans are also being given by government and private banks on goat rearing, so that goat rearing business can be started at a low cost.
