Different Goat breeds available with us

Sojat

The Sojat goat breed is a meat goat breed that originated from Rajasthan in India. It is a cross-breed of Jamunapari and Hyderabadi goats. They have pink coat, very long ears, a short and thin tail, and conical teats. Adult male goats weigh between 60-70 kg, while adult female goats weigh between 40-50 kg. Sojat goats are primarily raised for their meat production, which is considered to be of superior quality

Kota

The Kota goat breed is a traditional Indian goat breed known for its large size, high milk production, and delicious meat. They are primarily found in Jhakrana and surrounding villages near Behror, in the Alwar district of Rajasthan. They are mainly black and white in color, with females weighing upto 50 kgs and males weighing upto 70 kgs.

Alpine

The Alpine goat is a medium to large-sized breed of domestic goat known for its excellent milking ability. Originating from the French Alps, this breed has been valued for its milk production, with a daily yield of about 0.9-1.3 kg with 3.6% fat in tropical climates. The Alpine goat has erect ears and a straight nose. They have no set colors or markings. A mature Alpine goat weighs up to 55 to 60 kg. The Alpine goat gets mature for kidding in 4 to 7 months and gives birth to 1 to 3 kids at a time. This breed has been crossed with other breeds, such as the Beetal, to produce a crossbred population at ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal.

Saanen

The Saanen goat originated from the Saanen Valley of Switzerland and is primarily raised for commercial milk production. They are the largest among all dairy goat breeds. Saanen goats are often compared to the Holstein Friesian dairy cattle breed due to their high level of milk production. They are considered to be among the best dairy goat breeds.

Beetle

The Beetal goat breed is a popular and versatile breed from the Punjab region of India and Pakistan. They are highly milk productive and have a distinctive red or golden-brown coat with white spots. Beetal goats have a short, lustrous coat and long, hanging ears that are 10–18 in. (25–45 cm) long. They have a prominent nasal bridge, giving them a distinct Roman nose. The Beetal goat is used for both meat and milk production, they are a dual-purpose breed and are raised mainly for their meat.

Black Bengal

The Black Bengal breed is a type of goat found in various regions, including Bangladesh, West Bengal, Assam, and Odisha. They are known for their high prolificacy, early maturity, and low kidding interval, making them an important breed in the region. Black Bengal goats are also recognized for their excellent chevon quality. These goats typically have black skin and fur. They have horns, averaging 5.8 cm in length, which are slightly tilted upward or straight. The breed is also known to come in other colors, including earthy, white, or dim colors. The male Black Bengal goat typically weighs between 35-40 kg, while the female weighs between 25-30 kg. They are valued for their delicious meat and high prolificacy, making them an important part of the local livestock industry.

African Boar Goat

The African Boar Goat, also known as the African Pygmy Goat, is a breed of goat that originated in West Africa. They are known for their distinctive appearance, with a compact body, short legs, and a coat that can range in color from brown to black to white. They are a small to medium-sized breed, with males weighing between 50-70 kg (110-154 lbs) and females weighing between 40-60 kg (88-132 lbs). Both males and females have horns, which are typically short and curved. African Boar Goats are known for their friendly and docile nature, making them a popular choice for small farms and homesteads. They are often used for meat production, as well as for their milk and hides. African Boar Goats are adapted to hot and humid climates, making them well-suited for tropical and subtropical regions
